Steve’s Tech Links For 04-11-08
The blogosphere has been in a blaze since the New York Times wrote an article about pro bloggers blogging til they drop. The article goes into great depth about a professional bloggers lifestyle including the work-at-home office, unhealthy decisions, and the increasing stress that comes with a job like this. It also discusses how blogging could be the cause of two major deaths in the blogosphere as of late. I disagree that these deaths are just caused by blogging, they have a choice between blogging till they drop, or taking a break every once in awhile, or going outside for an hour a day to get the excercise they need.
In recent technology news, Yahoo is going to outsource adsense for search from Google in a desperate attempt to raise its shareholder value. The adsense for search will run for 2 weeks on only US-based searches, an will only affect 3% of searches.
Intel’s new Nehalem CPU will bring new features and enhancements to Intel’s processor line.

For the last of our Tech Links, ISPs over in Oregon have unveiled a new business plan that involves charging per bytes downloaded. You get 50GBs at 16Mbps for $55, and if you go over they’ll charge you an extra $1.50 per GB. Add in the $10/month fee for the cable modem, and broadband internet access can get costly. I really hope it doesn’t come to this, because online gaming, online HD movie distribution and streaming as well bit torrent popularity would fail.
